Provence wines
La Provence profite d'un terroir large et varié qui s’étend principalement sur 4 departments : the Bouches-du-Rhône (13), the Var (83), the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence (04) and the Alpes-Maritimes (06). The Mediterranean climate allows the vines to give
very high quality wines.
On the grape variety side, Provence and its hillsides make it possible to cultivate a very wide variety of grapes and the main grape varieties are for red wine and rosé : Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Syrah, Carignan, Tibouren, Cabernet Sauvignon.
For the white wine, Those are : Semillon, Ugni Blanc, Bourboulenc, Grenache White, Sauvignon, Viognier. Each domain, each castle, each vineyard according to its terroir and its grape varieties, will produce a different wine.
