The story of the Lieutenant in a few words…
When olives resist !
It all started following an intense frost during the cold, very cold winter 1956 which destroys a large part of the family olive grove. Grandfather Jean, by Laurent Belorgey, decides not to admit defeat and will replant the olive trees after two centuries of family management passed down from generation to generation, most the Lieutenant is not yet born.
A mill, friends and olives
In 1963, he buys with friends, A mill, in order to transform these little green balls into liquid gold and thus create a mouth oil.
From finance to the countryside: the great Escape
In 2002, Laurent Belorgey is stuck between stock charts and olives while working in finance in Luxembourg. Halte is! The olive trees win : he decides to return to settle on the family estate and learn the profession of olive grower.
The Lieutenant: Award-winning olive oil
With Virginie, his life and work partner, he throws “The Lieutenant”. The first year, BOOM, Gold and Silver medal ! Reassured, It turned out to be true what his grandfather told him “the olive tree returns a hundredfold”, he continues his efforts to make Lieutenante a quality oil that matches the best in Provence.
