cicadas “bronze” in Paris !

End of June, le creative biscuit maker brought up a colony of cicadas in Paris for the contest “PRIX EPICURES DE l'EPICERIE FINE 2018”. The cicada-shaped cookies won the bronze medal in the category cooking aids and spice mix with shortbread “Herbes de Provence Parmesan PDO”.

The jury chaired by Michel Dutournier (2 Michelin stars) and supported by catering professionals, fine grocers and food journalists, awarded 3rd place to Shortbread biscuits from Provence.

The cicada shape was not enough to seduce this demanding jury, the sandy and creamy texture got the better of their palate. The originality of this shortbread is above all to be salty and can thus be tasted as an aperitif but also as a culinary accompaniment with a fresh cheese., a zucchini flan, a gazpacho.
